Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring a partner?

Due to current Covid restrictions our partner dance classes are only open to cohabiting couples or couple from the same social bubble. Normally, no partner is required for any of our classes. We welcome singles, couples, and friends to all our classes.  Some styles of dance such as Rock n Roll, Lindy Hop Swing, Ballroom & Latin are partner dances but we partner you up with other dancers in the class and change partners throughout the class (if you come as a couple/friends and do not wish to change partners then we can accommodate this). This is a great way to get to know other dancers and learn from others. In Retro Line Dance classes, no partner is needed as we dance individually as a group in lines of about 4/5 across the floor.

What shoes are best to wear?

We advise adults to wear outdoor shoes with a smooth sole. The shoes need to be comfortable to dance in. Adults should avoid wearing running trainers as these grip the floor and limit turning and twisting and put added pressure on knee and ankle joints. We advise children to either wear trainers, plimsole or canvas shoes for class. Please avoid wearing boots or high-top trainers as these limit ankle movement. We have dance shoes available to purchase which are the best shoes for dancing as these allow freedom of movement for all styles of dance.

What clothes should be worn for class?

We suggest wearing clothes you are comfortable in and can move in with ease. You will get warm during our classes, so we advise layers which can be easily removed and a short sleeved top would be advisable. For children’s classes we advise them to wear leggings or shorts and a t-shirt.

How do you register for a class or course?

Currently all class are pre-bookable, so as to ensure that we are following Covid secure guidance. Normally, you do not need to register for our adult classes. Just come along to the class 5 minutes before the start time. We ask you to register in advance for courses due to limited numbers.  To register and reserve a place in our children Dance & Drama classes please complete the reservation form online.

Should we bring a drink to class?

A bottle of water is always a good thing to bring to class for both adults and children. Keeping dehydrated after exercise is always beneficial to your body.

What if I am unable to make my class?

No problem, we will always catch you up or you are very welcome to attend one of our others classes. If you have paid for your class/es or course in advance and are unable to attend the fees are non-transferable.
